Round 13 means everything may happen in Liga MB as the season just started. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The biggest surprise of round 13 was guest Brujos' (8-3) easy road victory over much higher ranked San Salvador (7-4) 87-69 on Thursday evening. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Dominican forward Adonis Lopez (-1997) fired a double-double by scoring 26 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Dominican forward Alejandro De Los Santos (193-2002) chipped in 26 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Cuban guard Pedro Roque (187-1995) produced 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Brujos have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. San Salvador at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Metapan. Brujos are looking forward to face Santiagueno (#7) in Usultan in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. San Salvador will play on the road against Santa Ana and is hoping to win this game.
Leader Cojute delivered the eleventh victory. This time they beat 7th ranked Santiagueno (3-7) 78-68 in Usultan. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jeremy Agosto (177-1997) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Nick Moore contributed with 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Puerto Rican guard Victor Carattini (185-1992, college: PR-Bayamon) answered with 35 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds for Santiagueno. Santiagueno's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cojute maintains first place with 11-1 record. Santiagueno at the other side keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. Cojute will play against Metapan (#5) at home in the next round. Santiagueno will play against the league's second-placed Brujos in Izalco and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked Chalchuapa (0-11) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 88-85 loss to eighth ranked Santa Ana (3-9) in Chalchuapa on Wednesday evening. Frankyn Batista stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 24 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals for the winners. At the losing side Miguel Velez responded with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. Santa Ana maintains eighth place with 3-9 record. Loser Chalchuapa still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Santa Ana will meet at home higher ranked San Salvador (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Chalchuapa will have a break next round.

In the last game of round 13 Santa Tecla was crushed by Metapan in a road game 83-60.




Santiagueno - Cojute 68-78

Leader Cojute delivered the eleventh victory. This time they beat 7th ranked Santiagueno (3-7) 78-68 in Usultan. Cojute made 19-of-24 charity shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jeremy Agosto (177-1997) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. His fellow American import Nick Moore (198-1991, college: Alliance) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Cojute players scored in double figures. Puerto Rican guard Victor Carattini (185-1992, college: PR-Bayamon) answered with 35 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and Puerto Rican center Giovanny Martinez (206-1998, college: Jarvis Christian) added 6 points and 15 rebounds in the effort for Santiagueno. Santiagueno's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cojute maintains first place with 11-1 record. Santiagueno at the other side keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. Cojute will play against Metapan (#5) at home in the next round. Metapan - Santa Tecla 83-60

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Santa Tecla's (4-8) road loss to fifth ranked Metapan (7-4) 60-83 on Tuesday. Metapan forced 23 Santa Tecla turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Puerto Rican Xavier Zambrana (193-1991) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-1994) chipped in 13 points and 11 rebounds. Four Metapan players scored in double figures. At the losing side Dominican power forward Jose Espinal (208-1998) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists and Dominican swingman Elian Torres (201-2000) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds. Santa Tecla's coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Metapan moved-up to fourth place, which they share with San Salvador. Santa Tecla lost third consecutive game. Defending champion keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Metapan will meet league's leader Cojute in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Santa Tecla will play against Fantasmas (#3) and hope to secure a win.

Bottom-ranked Chalchuapa (0-11) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 88-85 loss to eighth ranked Santa Ana (3-9) in Chalchuapa on Wednesday evening. They outrebounded Chalchuapa 58-42 including 18 on the offensive glass. Dominican forward Frankyn Batista (198-1999, college: Pace) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 24 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals for the winners and American swingman Shian Bradshaw (194-1995, college: Wake Tech CC) chipped in 28 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Batista is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side naturalized Puerto Rican swingman Miguel Velez (185-1997, college: Hartnell JC) responded with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and Puerto Rican point guard Ryann Mercado (182-1987, college: App State) scored 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Santa Ana maintains eighth place with 3-9 record. Loser Chalchuapa still closes the standings with 11 games lost.
